At least 29 crypto exchange apps banned from installation on Korean Google Play Store

YouToCoin July 26 news, according to Digital Asset reports, in addition to OKX and Bybit, at least 29 other overseas cryptocurrency derivatives exchange apps can no longer be newly installed on the Google Play Store in South Korea, including MEXC, KuCoin, BingX, Gemini, BTCC, Phemex, Bitmex, etc. The report says that when searching for these apps on the Play Store, they show as unavailable or display a message like 'not available in your region.' Among the 29, 14 had previously been listed by South Korea's FIU as unregistered VASPs and reported to law enforcement agencies, while another 15 were not reported but were similarly blocked by the Play Store. Since January this year, Google has suspended regional support for virtual asset service provider apps not registered with the FIU in accordance with its own policies.
