PANews reported on July 31 that according to FinanceFeeds, Nancy Jones, the widow of the late American country singer George Jones, lost approximately $17 million in a cryptocurrency scam involving XRP. The case occurred in Tennessee, and Nancy's ex-boyfriend, Kirk West, allegedly exploited his access to Nancy's assets to steal over $400,000 in cash and a Ledger wallet containing over 5.5 million XRP tokens. Some of the stolen assets have been recovered, but approximately $1.5 million worth of cryptocurrency remains unaccounted for.
