PANews reported on May 27 that Meta Platforms (META.O) is reorganizing its artificial intelligence team to speed up the launch of new products and features, according to AXIOS. In an internal memo released on Tuesday, Chief Product Officer Chris Cox announced that the new structure will divide the team into two: ① Artificial Intelligence Product Team: Led by Connor Hayes, responsible for Meta AI Assistant, AI Studio tools, and AI feature development within Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. ② General Artificial Intelligence Foundation Team: Led by Ahmad Al-Dahle and Amir Frenkel, covering Llama model development, reasoning ability improvement, multimedia and voice technology, etc. The company's original AI research department FAIR (Basic Artificial Intelligence Research) remains independent, but a specific team focusing on multimedia technology will be incorporated into the newly established AGI Foundation team.
