On March 17, the cryptocurrency podcast column The Rollup recently posted that sources revealed to it that Tempo, a new public chain jointly developed by Stripe and Paradigm, is expected to be launched on the mainnet before the end of March, and the enterprise and retail sides will be launched simultaneously. The Rollup said that the news it has heard so far includes: 1. The new TIP-20 standard means that paying Gas on this chain no longer requires native tokens. 3. No tokens will be issued when the mainnet goes online. The team is waiting for a better market environment and a clearer regulatory framework to design the token economic model more rationally. 4. Stripe is vigorously promoting the integration and implementation of partner resources behind the scenes. 5. The enterprise route will be built around agent-based payment, covering contractor settlement, salary payment, cross-border remittance, prepaid interest payment, and credit expansion.
3. The DeFi lobby group dropped its airdrop lawsuit against the US SEC, saying that the situation in the encryption industry has changed
On March 17, Cointelegraph reported that Texas-based clothing company Beba and the crypto lobbying organization DeFi Education Fund have voluntarily withdrawn their lawsuit against the U.S. SEC in 2024. The lawsuit targets the SEC’s supervision of airdrops, accusing it of violating the Administrative Procedure Act by implementing digital asset enforcement policies without formal rulemaking procedures. The voluntary dismissal document cites the work of the SEC’s crypto task force as well as multiple speeches by Commissioner Hester Peirce last year, in which Peirce suggested that airdropped tokens were not securities and mentioned that the SEC was considering establishing an exemption framework for airdrops, as well as the White House’s executive action in January encouraging the SEC to establish a “safe harbor” for certain airdrops. DeFi Education Fund said that given that the work of the SEC’s crypto task force and recent speeches indicate that the commission’s stance on free airdrops may change, it is no longer necessary to continue the litigation. The lawsuit is dismissed without prejudice and the right to re-litigate in the future is reserved.
