Superfluid as a "payment tool" currently runs on the Ethereum, Polygon and xDAI networks. Its tokens are fully compatible with ERC20 and ERC777 and have a built-in protocol that automatically updates the real-time balance in the wallet without any transactions. Tokens can be issued through the Superfluid protocol, but can also be used to enhance existing ERC20. Wrapped tokens can be circulated and moved in a Superfluid manner, and the underlying assets can be redeemed at 1:1 at any time.
Superfluid is a constant flow of transactions that is automatically executed every time a new block is created on the blockchain. These transfers are completed simultaneously. The Superfluid protocol automatically creates a network between incoming and outgoing payments for each account or contract. This means that users (and smart contracts) can transfer funds as soon as each block is received, giving them the potential to operate without liquidity or payment delays. Digital asset flows require only one transaction on-chain, greatly reducing the processing costs of recurring payments and enabling a new subscription-based economy to emerge on-chain. Unlike monthly payments, working capital is a perfect exchange of time (or services) for money, eliminating the need for a trust or down payment. Superfluid enables scalable currency flows that will be the future of digital recurring payments.
