Originally $ROPE was just a fun meme/troller inspired project by Icebergy. He created $ROPE, and then began to invite friends around him to participate, forming a telegram group, which attracted more and more users to participate. Later, people have started creating custom $ROPE memos and are quick to shout out messages like "don’t buy rope" "$ROPE is sold out" "be $CHAIR".
