Opium is a universal and comprehensive derivatives protocol that can be used to create, settle and trade any decentralized derivatives.
OPIUM is a management token that can be obtained by actively participating in the Opium protocol ecosystem.
OPIUM tokens are not financial instruments or securities. They are merely a tool that will help us and the community build the foundation of a derivative trading ecosystem that will be unlicensed and decentralized.
Project Introduction
The Opium protocol is a common protocol that can be created, settled and traded in a professional, distrustworthy way. It allows anyone to build custom exchange-traded products on top of the Ethereum blockchain. Once created, they can be traded freely through a relay network and will be priced based on supply and demand.
Opium network is a learning ecosystem that works with derivatives and Oracle's custom logic. All created positions are represented by ERC-721o tokens, designed specifically for trading financial instruments, can be combined into portfolios and traded locally in portfolio orders. At the same time, these tokens are backward compatible with the ERC-721 token standard and can be used in existing ecosystems.
Opium introduces "Turing Complete Derivatives" (including exchange trading and over-the-counter trading) and "Turing Complete Prophet". This combination allows the creation of contracts on a wider scale, not just financial derivatives. The contract for any event, such as a sporting event, or even a lottery, can be established within the existing ecosystem. Because derivatives can be combined together, it opens up a lot of use cases.
