LAIKA-Laika Protocol Detailed Description

Laika was a Soviet space dog, one of the first animals to go into space and the first to orbit Earth. Laika, a stray dog from the streets of Moscow, was chosen as the crew of the Soviet Sputnik 2 spacecraft, which was launched into outer space on November 3, 1957.

Laika is the mascot for the project, and the goal is to honor all animals used in research and testing and to bring awareness to the sacrifices these animals make for humanity.
