Ignis is the first child chain of Ardor, operating using Ignis tokens. The unique design of Ardor allows for the existence of multiple chains (called child chains) at the same time, which have many functions and are secured at a global level by its parent chain Ardor.
Lightweight Contract
Lightweight contracts provide an automation layer on top of the Ardor platform API. Unlike traditional smart contracts, they are not executed by every blockchain node.
This flexible design allows rapid development and deployment of contracts, and also interacts with external systems. Stateless lightweight contracts are much safer than traditional stateful smart contracts. A breach of contract or a malicious contract will not cause damage to the entire network - at most it can destroy the nodes it runs.
Privacy
All Ignis transactions are stored in a public ledger that anyone can view or verify. However, some use cases require a higher level of privacy.
Ignis supports coin shuffling algorithms, which allow multiple users to shuffle equal amounts of tokens into newly initialized recipient accounts without any connection to the source account.
Ignis natively supports encrypted messages. These keys can be securely shared with third parties using message-specific encryption keys.
Advanced Trading Control
Ignis supports complex multi-signature features called account control. Transactions submitted from the account under this control must undergo a mandatory approval process.
Account control is based on the approved model phase characteristics defined using the usage. A composite approval model can be created from the base model using a combination of Boolean logical operators.
Using asset control functions can similarly limit asset transactions.
Decentralized Exchange
The Ardor platform has three different types of fully decentralized exchanges, as well as the most advanced blockchain order matching engine.
Coin Exchange supports transactions for all child chain tokens and ARDR parent chain tokens.
Asset Exchange manages the issuance and transaction of security tokens that can represent company stocks through convenient features such as voting and dividend payments.
The currency system provides specialized token types that can be used for crowdfunding, voting, etc.
