Crust provides a decentralized storage network for the Web3 ecosystem, supports multiple storage layer protocols including IPFS, and provides storage interfaces to the application layer. Crust's technology stack can also support decentralized computing layers. Crust aims to build a distributed cloud ecosystem that values data privacy and ownership.
Crust provides a decentralized storage network for the Web3 ecosystem. Crust is developed based on Polkadot's Substrate technology framework and will serve users as a decentralized storage parachain of Polkadot. Crust is a member project of Web3 Bootcamp and Substrate Builders Program and has received grants from the Web3 Foundation.
Crust supports multiple storage layer protocols such as IPFS and FastDFS. Crust's Meaningful Proof of Work (MPoW) uses Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) technology to reliably prove the storage workload of a node. Crust's Security Proof of Stake Consensus (GPoS) is a PoS consensus that adds a guarantee mechanism.
The native token CRU in the Crust network is a functional token that represents the value of the entire network. Similar to ETH in Ethereum or DOT in Polkadot. CRU has the following functions:
1. Staking maintains GPoS consensus on Crust network
2. Used to guarantee the selected node
3. Contractual security and commissions as resource services
4. Transaction fees as a network usage
5. Can be used to purchase resource services
6. Can be used for on-chain governance mechanisms to vote on proposals
