BELLSCOIN is a Scrypt cryptocurrency based on Nintendo game Animal Crossing.

It was released on bitcointalk and was released about 8 days earlier than 2013's Dogecoin (DOGECOIN). The initial idea was to create a cryptocurrency based on Nintendo game Animal Crossing. In Animal Forest, BELLSCOIN is the main currency obtained through various activities such as collecting fruits, catching bugs, fishing and mining fossils.

However, as Dogecoin began to rise, the blockchain was permanently offline in late 2014. BELLSCOIN was abandoned and reset. Fortunately, the community re-activated it in 2023, and more nodes are launched one after another.
